Northeastern Region

The National Model Railroad Association is divided into 18 regions.  One of those regions is the Northeastern Region (NER).  The Garden State Division is part of this region.

The NER encompasses the six states of New England, most of New York, northern New Jersey, a couple of counties in Pennsylvania, and the Eastern Provinces of Canada and Quebec.

The NER holds an annual convention and has a magazine that is available to read online.

NER Convention

Every year, one or more of the NER divisions hosts an in-person convention during a weekend in the fall.  These conventions feature clinics, layout tours, prototype tours, operating sessions, non-rail activities, model and photo contests, a banquet, and awards.  Most of all, it offers an opportunity to meet the friends you know and the friends you have not met yet.

NERx Convention

NERx is a virtual event held in the spring. Unlike an in-person convention, NERx can be viewed from home using a computer. This convention features clinics and layouts tours. It may also have other activities, such as a model and photo contest, model showcase, and roundtable discussions.
