A. Paul Mallery Award
The Summit-New Providence HO Railroad Club created the Delaware Trophy II as an Award to recognize Ingenuity in Model Building in the Northeastern Region of the NMRA. The first recipient was in 1974 and the last was in 1988.
The Garden State Division (GSD) revived this trophy in 2008 and renamed it The A. Paul Mallery Trophy in honor of the late Paul Mallery. Paul was a founding member of the GSD, a writer of classic works on model railroading, and Master Model Railroader No 4.
The Paul Mallery Trophy encourages members of the GSD to build quality models and advancing the art of model railroad model building. The trophy is awarded each year to a GSD member, who has shown consistent excellence in modeling, for work completed in the year of the award or in the preceding year.

Ed Fraedrich
Service Award
Ed Fraedrich was a Director on the Garden State Division board
until his untimely passing in 2010. Ed always volunteered his services. Ed always had a smile on his face and nice things to say about people. The
GSD established the Ed Fraedrich Award to be presented to a member of the GSD that has provided services to the division and is not a member of the board.
This award is presented to recognize steadfast service to the division and model railroading hobby in the tradition of the late Ed Fraedrich.
